In October of 1953, a small group of far-sighted people, who were employees
of the Northern Colony, felt the need to establish a credit union that would be
located on the grounds of the Northern Colony.
In November of 1953, the Northern Colony
Credit Union opened its doors for business. As the credit union's assets began
to grow and the walls began to shrink, land was acquired and a building was constructed July, 1984.
As the credit union grew and expanded their charter to include the general public, the name was changed to Valley Credit Union.
